Description
Celebrated composer, Jose Mena, from Venezuela, has created a modern-day Latin American madrigal using the poetry of Manuel Felipe Rugeles. On the surface the song is about a pretty young lady on her way to Zorca, but the questions and expectations for her future are the deeper thoughts. ”This poem is the rhythmic generator of the composition,” states Mena, and the dissonances and melodic units reveal the multicultural qualities of the piece. Good high school choirs and college ensembles will enjoy this taste of Latin America.
