The Amanda Quist Signature Choral Series

Celebrating The Choir Sound And Spirit

This series aims to amplify new choral works and editions of historical pieces, with a focus on the music of female composers and poets. By highlighting composers from the Renaissance through today, we emphasize the role of music in building voices, inspiring the choir’s sound and spirit.

Dr. Amanda Quist, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, leads the award-winning Frost Chorale and directs the graduate program in Choral Conducting. Under her guidance, the choir has collaborated with prestigious ensembles like the New World Symphony and Michael Tilson Thomas. Dr. Quist initiated the Seraphic Fire Scholars program, fostering conducting internships with the South Florida Master Chorale and the Miami Children’s Chorus. Formerly Chair of the Conducting, Organ, and Sacred Music Department at Westminster Choir College, she received various accolades, including the Distinguished Teaching Award and the Mazzotti Award for Women’s Leadership.

Her ensemble, Westminster Kantorei, secured first place in the 2018 American Prize for College & University Choral Performance. Dr. Quist’s influence extends globally as she conducts honor choirs, serves as a guest lecturer, and participates in international events. She has been involved in prestigious programs such as the ACDA International Exchange Program and the ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival. Additionally, she holds key roles within the National ACDA, contributing to its Student Mentor program and serving as the Repertoire & Resources Coordinator for Collegiate Activities.
