Description
A modern day madrigal, this demonstrates the artistry of Richard Burchard. The Teasdale text paints words of description with much deeper meanings, ultimately releasing the fear of death. The melodic lines outrank expectation with stunning leaps that are surprisingly sensuous. The responsive ”chorus” sections are like joyful dances around the Maypole, playful and buoyant. A wonderful concert or festival piece, medium in difficuilty, selected for the Bruce Rogers series.
