His career has included work with singers ranging from middle school students to collegiate and community ensembles, and his music reflects a strong interest in songwriting, creativity, and the way people experience music together.

That background feels especially appropriate in Circle Around. The piece is celebratory without being superficial and accessible without sacrificing its identity. Rather than relying on a generic “inspirational” message, Hill gives singers a concrete image—the circle—and allows music, memory, place, and community to grow from it.
